Car rental terms
Booking, payment, additional services and vehicle return.
Your rental with Vega
We aim to build lasting relationships with our customers and provide new, well-maintained vehicles. You can travel throughout Greece without mileage restrictions; travel outside Greece is not permitted. If the car develops a fault, we will replace it. Our assistance service operates 24 hours a day, and our team is available to help with your questions.
Driver requirements
You must present a valid driving licence issued at least one year ago. Drivers from outside the EU must also present an international driving permit together with the licence issued in their country of residence. The minimum age is 23.
Reservations and payment
Bookings are made by vehicle category, not for a specific model. If the confirmed category is unavailable, Vega reserves the right to offer a vehicle in a similar category.
Payment can be made by bank transfer, via PayPal or in person when collecting the vehicle. A valid credit card must be presented if you intend to take the car to a Greek island. The booking is confirmed by an advance payment.
Cancellation
Cancellations must be submitted through the Vega website at least twenty-four (24) hours before the scheduled start of the rental. If notice is received at least twenty-four (24) hours before collection, all payments are refunded. If Vega receives notice less than twenty-four (24) hours before collection, payments are not refunded.
Collection or return outside opening hours incurs an additional charge.
Traffic violations and damage
The renter is responsible for traffic violations and fines. Insurance does not cover accidents occurring after the rental period has expired. It also excludes deliberate or negligent damage, damage resulting from a breach of the agreement, and damage caused by fire.
If the vehicle is returned damaged, the renter must pay €80. The driver’s card will not be charged for violations for which the driver is not responsible.
Collection and return arrangements
The return arrangements must be specified in the agreement. Collection or return outside the city costs €15 + VAT, plus €0.50 + VAT per kilometre.
If the renter does not collect the vehicle at the agreed date and time and has not contacted Vega in writing or by telephone, the booking will be cancelled after 3 hours and the vehicle may be rented to another customer.
Requests for collection outside Vega’s opening hours must be made when booking. The service is charged separately from the vehicle rental.
Additional services
An additional driver is free of charge.
GPS is available on request for €7 per day, up to €30 per rental.
One child seat is free. A second is available on request for €5 per day, up to €50 per rental.
A 3G modem costs €3 per day, up to €30 per rental. Snow chains cost €20 per day. An additional luggage rack costs €30 per day.
Fuel
The vehicle is supplied with a full tank and must be returned with the same amount of fuel. If the fuel level is lower, the renter pays for the difference. No refund is given for additional fuel.
Accidents
In the event of an accident, notify Vega and the police. Provide the police accident report when returning the vehicle to the station. If the renter is at fault, the fee specified in the rental agreement will apply.
